Lessons from the Journey--1 Cor 6

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
"Such were some of you; but you were washed..."

It is essential to remember who I was and Who has made me the man I am today! I have not ceased being an idolater or a coveter because of any merit of my own. Paul reminds the Corinthians that certain actions reflect the wickedness within a person's heart and that we have been those people. Something happens in the life of a man/woman who becomes a Christian; it is something marvelous and wonderful. Through the Lord Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit transforms their life, washes them clean and sets them apart from their previous lifestyles to the purposes He has for them.

Let's not forget what it was like in our pre-Christian days to be longing for "something more" and looking for "something to provide significance". We were just like them and now we have been made new, through Christ. With humility, not forgetting where we have been, let's recommit to be the bearers of truth and hope this world is in desperation to experience.

Sex, Suicide, and Bed Sheets in Seattle

This is an article on Blaine Hogan's website about how some Christians in Seattle have responded to needs in their neighborhoods. Definitely raw but Christ-centered, so I love it! Lets take our responsibility as Christ-followers seriously and put on display the love, hope, and forgiveness that Jesus died to offer! Enjoy the read...

Lessons from the Journey

Here is a sneak peak inside a conversation at the 3:5 team meeting at my home tonight.  One of the guys mentioned an extremely difficult situation a friend of his was experiencing...

"How big is your God?" Is God big enough for the trials/tragedy you are leading your people through?  This is important because the size of your God determines the level of hope you have to offer someone in the midst of their tragedy."

When circumstances defy logic, and intellect is irrelevant, hope is what we have to offer and it is secure!
