Update on Tyson Woody- Sat July 5th

This is a note from Jeremy Woody, Tyson's Dad

"I first want to personally thank you all for your prayer and support. Today was Tyson's appointment with the specialists at Children's National Medical Center. Summer and I were definitely fearing the worst. One of our main prayers leading up to today was that when we were faced with options, God would make it absolutely clear what path we should take. 

When we got there today, there were no options. Our Doctor came in with a clear treatment plan that they have found promising results recently. He was also able to give some statistics that were more encouraging than what we have been seeing in our research. He said that this is due to the recent advances that they have made in treatments. The short explanation is that early next week Tyson will go in for a few tests and also to have a broviac catheter installed into his chest so that they can draw blood and administer medicines without constantly sticking him. The next day Tyson will begin his first cycle of chemotherapy.  Each cycle is 21 days. He will be in the hospital in DC for days 1-7. Days 8-21 he will be able to spend at home. He will need to undergo 6 cycles. Lord willing, he will be finished with this treatment plan a few weeks before Thanksgiving. 

We have a long road ahead and appreciate your constant prayers for our family. Please pray for Tyson's older brother and sister: Carson (4 1/2) and Kaylynn (2 1/2) as they learn to adapt to this new, temporary way of life. We will continue to update. Thanks again for praying! Update on Tyson Woody- Thurs June 27

Below is the latest on Tyson's Progress.  Please continue to pray and pass along this information to as many people as possible.  

"THE BIOPSY REPORT IS: "RARE AND AGGRESSIVE".  

THE MOST IMPORTANT PRAYER REQUESTS NOW ARE FOR GOOD RESULTS FROM NEXT THURSDAY'S (JULY 3rd) APPOINTMENT WITH THE PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST IN DC, MINIMAL SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE FOLLOWUP, CONTINUED MIRACULOUS RECOVERY, AND FINANCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE WOODYS.  PRAY FOR WISDOM FOR THE DOCTOR!"

Update on Tyson Woody

Thank you for all of you who are praying!  We have great news right now and his family is greatly encouraged by all of the prayer they have been receiving.  The latest update is that Tyson's breathing tube has come out and he is eating very well, actually too well, the nurses have had to limit him.  Wednesday is a big day as the doctors will have the pathology report and should be able to tell them whether the tumor they removed is cancerous or not.  Tyson got to leave the ICU today(Tuesday) and is in a regular room. He got to spend time playing with the physical therapist and they are amazed at his strength in his left side!! How great is this?!?!

Huge Prayer Request!

Please pray for a nine month old baby Tyson Woody.  He underwent surgery yesterday to remove a tumor that is attached to his brain.  The doctors, previously to the surgery, at UVA believe that the tumor is aggressive but requested that we all pray that they are wrong.  My next post is going to deal with many of the questions that we all wrestle with when hearing such news.

  

We're back!

Hello from the Stallings.  Brittni and I have had an incredibly memorable several weeks.  I apologize for not updating the blog as frequently as I would have liked.  Thank you to all of you who have so generously made our wedding so special!  Please continue to pray for us as we begin our new family.  Here are some pics below that allow you to travel with us to Cancun for our honeymoonat Moon Palace.  For over 50 pics take a look at Brittni's Facebook page.

Here are a lot of the things going on with Brittni and I over the next 10 days or so.  Please pray for us as often as we come to your mind.  As of today the countdown is to 28 days till the wedding!  As you can see we have a lot going on and please let us know how we can be praying for you...

• April 26-27th--Traveling to my parent's house for a short weekend and wedding shower from their church!
  
• April 28th--3:5 Team end of year "Grill Out" at my townhouse.  
  
• April 29th--Book of Daniel final exam and last day of classes for me.
  
• April 30th--Speaking to High School students at FBC of Roanoke and last day of classes for Brittni.
  
• May 2nd-9th--Finals week for Brittni and I
  
• May 8th--Seminary Banquet
  
• May 9th--Leaving Lynchburg for my parent's home.
  
• May 10th--Leave for Palm Beach County to stay at the Smith's casa!
  
• May 11th--Mother's Day--this is your friendly reminder!

Update on Prayer Requests

When I came home this afternoon I had to guys in my driveway, Elder Yaunt and Elder Webb.  They are missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and wanted to talk so I invited them in the house.  They had to be some where in 15 mins so it was short but I invited them back on Friday at 3pm.  So, please pray for me, I will update you on how it goes...

• 4-19 thru 4-20 Exposure Trip to Journey Church, Raleigh, NC--I will be taking 8 other prospective church planters to Jimmy Carroll's church plant to learn from this great church.
